Apparantly, PCH (Publishers Clearing House) has not been hit by the economy crunch, and this first post 0f 2009 offers $5000 a week for life from the Publishers Clearing House $5000 a week sweepstakes.

It’s free to register and sign up. You don’t have to wait forever either, as the winner will be announced next month on February 26.

• If you are starting off the new year trying to save every penny possible, be sure to check out these coupon savings deals.

• If you are seeking ways to save money on phone calls, you should definitely check out Skype. Skype is a free communication toolfor Instant Messaages and Skype To Skype calling. You can even stream video for free to family and friends anywhere in the world. You also have the option to use your own cell phone for calls at low low per minute rates. I love using skype and have recently implemented an app for my Iphone which makes it even cooler.

• If you are having trouble making payments on your phone bill, there are federal programs which may be able to help. Lifeline Assistance is one of those which offers basic phone service for as little as $10 per month. A program called Link Up America pays half the hook up connection fees (up to $30).

• If you have school age children, you can get free school supplies such as binders and backpacks, you should check with your local Salvation Army. many communities offer programs for a whole buncha free goodies. If you would like to contribute to this fine organization , you may contribute online from the official Salvation Army Donation site.

One more for today…If you have never heard of or used Overstock, you may consider checking them out for some really really good deals. As manufacturers overestimate how much to stock, they somerimes overestimate and need to get rid of items to make room for other products. Overstock purchases these items and passes them on to consumers at up to 80% savings. be sure to sign up for the newsletter for free offers and many times just $1 shipping.
